White House Decries 'Democratic Hoax' as Additional Epstein Estate Photographs Made Public
House Democrats have released a new tranche of what they described as "alarming" photographs from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 images—a portion of which have been seen before—plus another 70 released later on Friday represent a small number of the approximately 100,000 images provided to the House oversight committee, which is probing the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The fallen money manager died by apparent suicide in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking crimes.
High-Profile Individuals in the Images
Included in the high-profile individuals seen in the opening set are well-known figures such as film director Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
Administration Reaction
The White House addressed the release in a statement, charging Democrats of purposefully "choosing" the photographs for partisan aims and to "try and create a false narrative."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been time and again refuted," a White House spokesperson stated, insisting that "this presidency has accomplished more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats have ever done by frequently urging openness, disclosing numerous documents of records, and demanding additional probes into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Democratic Lawmaker Statement
The photos were published lacking captions, but as stated by a Democratic representative from California and senior member of the oversight committee, they raise more questions about Epstein's connections to wealthy individuals.
"Now is the occasion to stop this White House concealment and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he stated in a comment.
The publication of these documents occurs alongside the oversight committee continuing its inquiry into the Epstein matter.
